Seems AMD may have the bragging rights to the fastest processor right now, but the war is constantly raging.
Also, as to AMD compatibility with your operating system – both Windows XP and Windows Vista are compatible with AMD and Intel, among other, processors.
Imagine how unpopular AMD processors would be if they didn’t run Windows! If you are new to AMD, they really are great processors – I used them for many years and loved them.
There are some enhancements in the most recent processors and current bus configuration on the motherboard which allow for better graphics than ever before, so you seem to have picked a good time to build a new system.
We’d love to hear what you choose in the end, what you build, how you build it and more if you have time!
