Help: My Systemax / New Video Card problem
I purchased a Systemax in 11/03 SN 105220145 with P4 2.66, P4M266 MATX Motherboard with LAN, Audio & Video. About two weeks ago my video appeared all washed out (virtually no color). Photos and web pages “without” motion appeared fine. The only way I could correct was to change from 60 Hertz to 75 Hertz. This way I could play video clips, but when doing so DVD’s will not play at the 75 Hertz speed. Everything else worked ok.
I downloaded the latest driver for the on-board card ProSavageDDR and reinstalled, but same thing, color washed out. I want to put in an nVidea FX4000 CPI Video card to correct the problem. How do i disable the present on-board video card? It does not appear that there is a setting for this in the BIOS.
Or, can I disable the card in Device Manager? When I disable will I still have video to be able to install the new card and driver for it.
Any suggestions would be great.
HELP . . .

Traderjack,
Not exactly sure why your on board video is not behaving correctly. Could be software related, could be hardware related.
To answer the second part of your question, when you add your new video card, the motherboard BIOS should automatically disable the on board video card. Just remember that there will be no way to enable the on board video card while the add on video card is installed.
Traderjack,
There is no disable on-board video feature for this motherboard. If you install an AGP card then the on-board will no longer function but if you install a PCI card then you need to change a setting in the bios.
At boot press Delete. Once at the CMOS menu use the down arrow to highlight Integrated Peripherals and press Enter. Now look for Int Display First, use the down arrow to highlight and press Enter. Use the PgUp key to change the AGP default to PCI Slot. Once this is accomplished you can install the PCI card, connect the monitor to the new card, and restart to load the drivers.
