Review: Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 Travel Webcam
The Microsoft Lifecam NX-6000 is an suitable notebook travel companion that holds its own against similarly priced USB cameras on the market. This compact camera attaches to your display via a spring clip that adjusts for screens between .28 and .59 inches thick. The nicest feature of the NX-6000 is the pop out lens. When not in use, the lens retracts inside the body of the camera to prevent damage during travel. You can swivel the lens up and down to get the best possible shot.
A Solid Notebook Webcam For Travel
The lens also has a good field of view, and the built-in microphone handles voice recording while simultaniously cancelling out ambient noise. Resolutions of 800×600 are where this camera really shines, producing good looking, smooth video for use with Live Messenger or other instant messaging services. There’s some trouble with video at very high resolutions, and it must be said that without it’s own light source, this is not a low light camera. But all in all, it’s an incredibly small, lightweight travel oriented camera that is perfect for PC users on the go!
