Open source is changing the software world. These days you can find good replacements for a lot of those bloated, expensive software packages and you can usually find them for free!
This week I decided to clean out the pipes on the PC. All those nasty temporary files, bad registry entries, and such need to go.
I downloaded a program called CCleaner. This is an optimization and privacy tool. It roots through the registry and removes bad entries, allows you to uninstall programs, cleans internet tracks, and removes all that junk that clogs windows. Immediately after reboot I noticed a difference. I feel like I’ve got a new PC.
The wife was editing some pictures that we took on a Nikon P5000 this week and she asked me, “Honey, why is the computer running so fast?” That’s proof enough for me that this is a handy little application. Check it out.
