Hewitt Packard has long been at the forefront of the Laser Printer market. Which makes the release of the OfficeJet Pro L7680 Inkjet printer all that more ironic: It is intended to surpass Laser printers at the jobs they are traditionally the best at doing.
And we’d have to say that this workhorse AIO comes close to living up to these high expectations. With a 50-page ADF, a legal-size flatbed scanner, email, fax and more, it is a capable machine, indeed. It is almost as fasta a laser, too. It blasts through inkjet test pages in less than 8 and a half minutes. That’s faster than most AIOs out there, and this printer costs less than 1,000 dollars.
It also printed great photopraphs (except that the prints weren’t waterproof) and had great mastery of simple text. While there were some hangups on stylized, thicker text, the price of this little office work machine makes it well worthy of consideration.
