Motherboard Mayhem! The XFX nForce 680i SLI NVIDIA Motherboard
The XFX nForce 680i SLI Motherboard is a Socket 775 board ready for Intel Core 2 Extreme (dual and quad core), Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Celeron D, Pentium 4, Pentium D 9XX, and Pentium D 8XX processors. And it comes running 1333MHz FSB right out of the box. Designed to withstand the modifications and overclocking practiced by performance hungry gaming enthusiasts, it comes with a CPU cooling fan, should you want to reduce the heat.
The XFX nForce 680i SLI Motherboard is a well designed platform as well, the SATA ports are located in positions where other components will not block access to them. In addition, this board has THREE PCI express x16 slots, and is designed for dual graphics card SLI operation. Future forward design allows for three graphics cards running at once. TigerTV Host Logan has the scoop and shares with you this very impressive motherboard.

Hey,
Sheesh, looks like a nice motherboard. Here’s my pickle, I could get an XFX 680i SLI Mobo for $295 CAN. Or I could go with Asus. Which is better? Asus or XFX?
P.S. If I went with Asus, I could get the P5N32-E (680i) for $270 CAN or the P5N32-E Plus (590i/650i) for $230 CAN.
What should I do?
Dan
Robert, I’m building a very similar system to the specs you’ve posted above and I’m personally going for the Thermaltake Toughpower 750W PSU which is about £77 (or the equivalent in whichever currency you use). Unless you’re wanting to go SLI with two of those Ultra cards I can’t see any reason you’d need more than that :).
Also my question to anyone who reads this; I’m thinking of buying some corsair 2×1GB sticks, DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz. I *think* that it will be fully compatible with the board (I’m going to be using the LT version of this board) but I’d like someone just to verify that for me so I don’t blow it up or something :P.
