High Definition Superiority Complex: The Sharp Aquos LC-52D62U 52-inch 1080p HD LCD TV

Sharp Aquos 52-inch 1080p HD LCD TV We feature tons of LCD, Plasma, and Rear Projection TVs on our parent-site, TigerDirect.com. I’m often asked: “Which is the best one?”

If I answered the question truthfully, I’d no doubt land in hot water for ruining it for the other brands. Truth be told, the “best” depends entirely on what you’re looking for. But I can tell you about the Sharp Aquos LC-52D62U 52-inch HD LCD TV. It is one of the best LCDs yet produced, period.

The LC-52D62U is another inspiring model in the Aquos line from Sharp. Sharp has been manufacturing superior televisions since CRTs were the norm, and this 52-inch behemoth does not break from tradition. The first thing that should be mentioned is the fact that this black bezel beauty has 1080p native resolution. That means that this display can handle the highest resolution Blu-ray and HD DVD titles without batting a digital eyelash, or scaling down a single pixel.

These two HDMI connections provide an all digital sound and audio experience. That isn’t all, however. You’ll see 1080p LCDs all over the place. They are quite common on Rear projections, and even some Plasmas can do it. But the LC-52D62U has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio that sets it apart even from this high-res pack. With that kind of distinction, you’ll get rich, accurate expression of color, hue, and generally the best picture quality you’ve ever seen on an LCD TV. Add to that the 4ms response time, and you’ve got a picture to die for. No matter how many HD devices you want to connect, the Sharp Aquos has room for them all. Everything from S-Video to all digital HDMI connections (Two of them) will have you literally swimming in enhanced and High Definition goodness.

Is the Sharp Aquos LC-52D62U the best High Definition LCD Flat Panel ever created? I can’t tell. But I guarantee that if you check out our TigerTV video review, you’ll be pretty excited.
