Cellular phone lovers – get ready for the ultimate phone. Just released by an off-shoot of Philips, this display is not only sub-compact and easily stashable, it also has a 5 inch – now get this – foldable – yep, you heard me right – display.
Polymer Vision’s new “Readius” is truly the first screen that is foldable and it’s simply amazing! Watch all three images of the phone in sequence as shown below to understand how the phone really packs away.
Polymer Vision’s ‘Readius’
“You get the large display of e-reading, the super battery life of e-reading, and the high-end connectivity … and the form factor and weight of a mobile phone,” said Karl McGoldrick, chief executive of the venture capital-funded firm, in which Philips still has a 25 percent stake. “We are taking e-reading and bringing it to the mobile phone.”
McGoldrick said his “dream device”, which the company planned to build within 5 years, was a mobile phone with an 8-inch color display that could show video.
While the device only touts a black-and-white ‘epaper’ type display, you can be sure that the ‘dream device’ may address all of our other more demanding visual needs. The unit only has eight (8) buttons – making it a winner in many people’s minds – the less confusion, the easier to use.
While this phone is scheduled for shipment mid-2008, make sure you keep your eyes on our site for an update once Tiger has the product available. I can’t wait! Where’s the demo!

Can I wad it up and turn it into toilet paper? If so, who will answer when someone calls me?
Its hard to see. put a pencil next to it. I would think a little bigger than an I phone would be e-mail readable screen. solid so you can play java games on it, macro lens slider, fast browser, good camera, clear sound with tone control, good volume control. PDA/Smart Cell Phone. also .3gp video player / Combiner. MCA5516 9.15.08 E- MAIL READABLE CELL PHONE / PDA That’s All.
