infocus-big-picture.jpgProjectors are for board meetings and showing off your wares to clients, right? In fact, the only time you’re going to see a projector anywhere other than at work or in the classroom is in one of those swanky “Cribs” style homes with a stand-alone theater room. I’ve got a theater room myself, and one that multitasks as a living room and dining area, as well. But that aside, let me introduce you to the InFocus IN10 DLP Projector…a device that’ll display content (even HD) at home, the office, or anywhere else, for that matter.

The InFocus IN10 weighs only 2.4 pounds. That means there’s a good chance that you bag lunch weighs more than it does. This makes traveling with the IN10 easy and painless. Whether you’re going on a business trip or just trying to stave off the boredom from a trip to the relative’s house, the IN10 makes a good carry-on. (On second thought, maybe you should check it. Or at least check with your airline to see if they let you complicated electronics on the plane anymore.)

The IN10 has a resolution of 1024×768, which is pretty impressive from a projector. This is enough for 720p native resolution content. That means, of course, that you can play 720p and 1080i high definition. You’ll be missing a bit when it comes to Blu-ray, but considering that the IN10 achieves this kind of definition while projecting an image onto something else (no burn-in here!) and for this price, that’s pretty impressive. Don’t worry about the IN10 being dim, either: it’s got an 1800 Lumens rating.

dvi-to-hdmi.jpgThe IN10’s controls are easy to use. In fact, it should only take you a few minutes to figure out where everything is. You’ll need an adapter for HDMI devices. For high definition, this is recommended. But this little add-on is a small price to pay for a portable source for High-Def capable of creating an image up to 266 inches diagonal. (When someone asks you how big your high definition display is, say “22-feet” and watch their expression.)

The RunDown: No matter how large your presentation space (Or high-definition Movie watching space), the InFocus IN10 DLP projector will project a clean, vivid image. Integrated XGA native resolution will flawlessly display the most media-rich presentations, including automatic adjustment for 16:9 video and true HD sources. And it’s less than 1200 bucks. ‘Nuff said.
