EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video CardExperience the value of the popular G92 chip with the EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card. Sure, a lot of companies have issued their own version of the famous NVIDIA GPU. But the many features and improvements on the reference design found in the Akimbo certainly proves it to be a cut above the rest.

Targeted for the mainstream market, the EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card offers spectacular performance at an affordable price. With the G92 as its graphics core, you get more out of the 112 stream processors it contains. It has been manufactured under a 65nm fabrication process.

EVGA Leads the Way to Hardcore Gaming

The EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card supports PCI Express 2.0 and communicates with GDDR3 memory over a 256-bit bus.

EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card - Superclocked EditionIt is also capable of triple-SLI. While the factory specs for an 8800 GT include a 600 MHz core clock, 1500 MHz shader clock, and 900 MHz memory clock, this EVGA version has a 720 MHz core clock and 1000 MHz memory clock. That is quite a significant increase.

Are you wondering what the “SC” acronym stands for? It stands for “Super Cooling.” This high-performance card sports a chunky dual-slot cooler. A thicker array of aluminum fins and another copper base help draw more heat away from improved GPU. A blower fan keeps air in so it doesn’t move across the cooling surface. There’s a heatpipe-equipped aluminum block to cut back on hot spots that could potentially limit overclocking headroom. In addition to cooling the GPU substantially, the non-standard heatsink/blower combination also helps in keeping noise to a minimum. Even if you set the dual-slot board to full blast, it doesn’t create much noise.

Unlike some of NVIDIA’s higher-end boards, the EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card requires only a single six-pin auxiliary power connector. It’s quite interesting for one that has accelerated clocks. This graphics card tops out at 105W – well under the upper ceiling of what the slot and external connector are able to deliver.

The card’s maximum resolution is 2560 x 1600, thanks to NVIDIA®’s Lumenex™ Engine and PureVideo™ HD Technology. The 16X Anti-aliasing Technology provides fast and high-quality anti-aliasing to successfully remove jagged edges. 128-bit Floating Point High Dynamic-Range (HDR) Lighting precisely creates incredibly realistic lighting effects. These work together for an incredible visual spectacle even in complex and demanding games. NVIDIA® PureVideo™ HD Technology, meanwhile delivers picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and precise image scaling for movies and video.

The EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Akimbo SC Video Card has an I/O panel that sports two dual-link DVI outputs and one video out. You can plug the bundled component or S-video cable if you’re interested in using an analog television.
