You will never go wrong with any of the Final Fantasy series. That’s what makes them special – great storyline and highly entertaining game play.

And, of course, the Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift for Nintendo DS does not differ. It offers a rather defined storyline with at least 300 missions you can play through.

Embark on Quests and Battle Monsters

You are Luso Clemmens, a playful, determined and gutsy kid. At the start of the game, Luso finds himself alone in the library and sees an ancient tome laying around. He writes his name on it and his life is never the same. He is transported to a bizarre, magical land.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift mostly relies on turn-based battles. Your group of warriors will pick up quests in the local pubs, and most of the time, these missions will let you go out into the wider world and battle against the men, women and monsters of Ivalice. The more you indulge yourself in battles, the more your stats and powers will increase. Then you will see your army grow with every fight. But if you think that Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is all about different quests, then worry not. One of these quests will lead you to the other, and before you know it, the compelling plot advances. The others are just side quests, but they are still fun nonetheless.

The joy of the game comes in your ability to adapt to the environment. The battles take place over all types of terrain. The different factors on different terrains can either help or hinder your army, depending on the tactics you employ. So, you either use the surroundings to your advantage, or otherwise. This game will really make you think like a tactician.

The graphics and the score are worth mentioning as well. The graphic animation for attacks, magic, and even the background are delightful. The music also adds ‘attitude’ to the game. And because the Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is played on Nintendo DS, you have the choice to either use the touch-screen feature or stick to the buttons.

It is pretty much easy to manipulate and control this game. Give yourself an hour or two to become an expert. Word of warning, though, this game is highly addictive, primarily because it allows you to think. The game enhances your power of logic.

The Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift has serious depth, overall. It also has awesome presentation and a great sense of scale. At least 300 missions? You’ll never get tired of playing this game. With the great features the Nintendo DS has, and the entertainment this game provides, you surely will not let your handheld console go in a long time.
