Good News! Cell Phones Do Not Cause Cancer!

The unsupported myth that cell phones can increase risk of developing certain types ofCell phone to ear cancers like tumors of the brain and nervous system, salivary gland or eyes, even leukemia has been largely debunked.  According to a recently released Danish study, there is no link between cellular phones and cancer. This study is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind to date.  The data available to the researchers allowed them to look at a large number of cell phone users and assess potential risks many years after they first used them.  The study focused on Danish men and women who first subscribed for mobile phone service between 1982 and 1995 and followed them through 2002.  This means that some patients were tracked for two decades.  Previous advocates of a link between cancer and cell phones pointed to a lack of long-term information they claimed necessary in order to rule out negative effects over time.

Security Update: Microsoft Word Vulnerability

MS Word IconMicrosoft announces a security advisory for Microsoft Word. The vulnerability exploits a flaw within Microsoft Word that would let hackers take control of a victim’s computer by sending emails with an attached MS Word file.

The flaw addressed is the “Microsoft Word Malformed Object Pointer Vulnerability”. “The vulnerability affects versions of Microsoft Word sold from 2000 through 2006. Microsoft Word 2007, currently available only to businesses, is not vulnerable,” Microsoft said.

Currently, there is no patch available for this security flaw and Microsoft advises people not to open Word documents from unsolicited emails or unknown senders.

Sandisk Sansa E260 Mp3 Player Video Review

Win a Playstation 3 from TigerDirectBlogReview of the Sandisk Sansa E260

I decided to try my hand at a somewhat serious video. I was inspired by YouTube, and the similar videos that CNET has been hosting on their site, regarding new products. If I try it again, I’ll try and refine the production a little more. This was actually shot with my Canon SD200 Digital Camera, in video mode.
