Lost In Space
In the space age future of the year 1997, Earth is suffering from massive overpopulation. Professor John Robinson, his wife Maureen, their children (Judy, Penny and Will) and Major Don West are selected to go to the third planet in the Alpha Centauri star system to establish a colony so that other Earth people can settle there. They are to go there on a ship of Professor Robinson’s design, christened the Jupiter 2.
Doctor Zachary Smith, an agent for an enemy government, is sent to sabotage the mission. He is successful in reprogramming the ship’s robot, but in the process becomes trapped on the ship, and because of his excess weight, the ship and all on board become hopelessly lost and it now becomes a fight for survival as the crew tries to find their way back home. The Robinsons are forced to cross a sea of ice back towards the Jupiter 2. Smith gets excited because the shape of the planet’s orbit will force its temperature to become unbearable, but the Robinsons survive the heat. They do, however, face severe storms and discover from their radar, that a missile is heading straight towards them.
John discovers that the planet they are on will soon freeze because it is moving farther from the sun. The Robinsons attempt to leave the ship and ride the chariot south to survive. They encounter a carnivorous Cyclops who impedes their escape while battling off The Robot as he has been programmed to kill them when alone.
John leaves the ship to test the atmosphere on the new planet. On his way, his parajets run out of fuel and he heads straight for the planet. Suspecting sabotage, Don lands the ship and assembles the chariot to look for John. While everyone is out searching for John, Dr. Smith plans to take the Jupiter 2 back to Earth with the Robot. 
John senses an alien signal on board the Jupiter 2. Soon after, the Jupiter 2 is pulled onto an alien spaceship. John and Don get off the Jupiter 2 to search for maps, while Will and Dr. Smith explore the alien ship and discover giant bubble-like creatures. 
The Robinson Family takes off October 16, 1997 (in the future) on the Jupiter 2 spacecraft for a journey to the planet Alpha Centauri. Before liftoff, Zachary Smith, an enemy government spy and intergalactic doctor, plans to destroy the spacecraft. But his plan backfires, and he becomes trapped on board. Smith accidentally destroys the Jupiter 2’s guidance system and it becomes lost in space.
The Robinson family rockets into outer space, only to crash-land onto a desert planet. Originally made prior to “Reluctant Stowaway” this episode is a merger of episodes 1 through 4 without the characters of Dr Smith or The Robot.
