The force is still with you, and this time, it’s stronger than ever. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Xbox 360 has a great mixture of impressive storytelling and striking user interface, which any Star Wars fanatic will surely love playing.
Venture into the Dark Side
You’ll start off the game by playing Darth Vader on a mission to find a rogue Jedi, and you’ll definitely enjoy playing this sith lord because his force power makes him virtually unstoppable. Lifting the enemies into the air or just tossing them aside is what makes this game extremely amusing. Then, you’ll meet the “apprentice.†From hereon, you’ll be playing this mysterious guy who runs some errands for the sith lord. Without spoiling things, let’s just say that Darth Vader will ask for favors from you – lots of favors.
What’s fresh about the game is that you’re on nobody’s side. You’ll often see the imperial soldiers and the rebel alliance fighting while remaining neutral. This is fun because it gives you the freedom of jumping into the middle of the action to take on anyone, no matter what side they are on.
Like many games, your character progresses depending on your performance. You’ll earn Force Points everytime you kill an enemy. The points, however, depend on the style of killing. The more inventive the kill is, the higher the points rewarded. This encourages the player to explore new moves to make the character progress faster. And, of course, what’s a warrior without a weapon? You can upgrade your lightsaber by collecting crystals.
One thing you’ll notice and love about the game is the fusion of your force power with combat. You’ll be surprised with what you can do with your abilities, especially if you start mixing things up. The great variation of power combinations will also result to incredible game play. For instance, if one of your enemies is hiding behind something, you can surprise him with force grip to blow his cover away, or you can just forcefully push him to quickly finish the job. Fun, right?
The controls of the game are really easy to get used to. You can use your lightsaber and Force powers simultaneously. The controls of Star Wars will allow you to explore different character moves and combos. And graphics wise, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed really knows how to keep gamers interested. The graphics are directly proportional to the ‘mood’ and the setting it’s supposed to be in, thus helping you to stay in character.
You’ll ultimately find that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is published and developed by LucasArts Entertainment Company, is really a breath of fresh air that is unlike any other Star Wars game.
