The Panasonic HDC-HS9 is the world’s smallest full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) camcorder, and a hybrid camcorder that can record to either SD (Secure Digital), SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) or on its built-in 60GB hard disk.

High Definition Footage for Crystal Clear Shots

The HDC-HS9 is equipped with a 3-CCD (Charge-Coupled Devices) imaging system. 3-CCD is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras.

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera’s lens. With a 3-CCD imaging system, the light that comes through the lens is split into three primary color components: red, green and blue. Each CCD is then dedicated to process one of the three colors, resulting in images that look lifelike and vibrant.

The coated Leica Dicomar lens highlights the advanced optical technology that is found in the HDC-HS9 camera. With its crisp detail, subtle rendering, and smooth, natural imaging capabilities, this lens can take you to the limits of your visual imagination. The camcorder also offers a complementary guide in playback mode, called Playback Intelligent Shooting. This tool indicates when recorded footage is less than ideal with the following warnings: Dark Scene, Fast Tilt/Pan, Hand Swing, Low Light, Ground Shooting, and Unfocused.

Advanced 5.1 Channel Surround Sound is part of this device. When recordings are played on a 5.1-channel home theater system, viewers will be surrounded by clear, detailed sound. A Zoom Mic feature lets the microphone get as close as the camera’s zoom lens.
