TigerDirect has donated a total of 20 computers to a Miami school who only had 3 computers for their 80 students in Little Haiti.
As we are now knee-deep in the Back to School season, CompUSA was able to assist the Overtown Youth Center with getting prepared. OYC is a Miami facility which was founded by the Alonzo Mourning Charities to provide disadvantaged youth with ongoing support and leadership to help build a brighter tomorrow.
CompUSA was happy to donate 350 USB Flash Drives to the Youth Center for their Back-To-School project – and helped with the packing of the bookbags with the flash drives, pencils and other needed supplies for the upcoming school year.
The Pink Friday 2009 planning has begun, and last week we attended the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Partner Summit in Dallas, Texas to talk about the last two years success of Pink Friday in the Systemax family, and how we are expanding the scope of Pink Friday considerably in 2009.

Today CompUSA was delighted to participate in a ‘Classroom Makeover’ which culminated today at it’s unveiling and attendance by local dignitaries, including the Mayor of Miami, Manny Diaz. Filmed as a special for the series ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ on DirecTV – the Latinos Unidos center in the Allapatah area of Miami had a $250,000 makeover with nearly a completely new facility.
