Asus P5N-E SLI Motherboard: Terrific Pick for Mainstream Enthusiasts
The Asus P5N-E SLI Motherboard falls under the “oldie but goodie” category, but with the added plus of a new reduced price. This is easily the smartest option for those that are seeking simple SLI support on the Core 2 platform, without all the extravagant options – just the meat and potatoes. For the most part, the nForce 650i chipset offers the same core features and benefits the nForce 680i has, but does so at a much lower price point. So lets go over the Asus P5N-E SLI layout and features, and see why I think it’s a great bargain.
MSI P6N SLI Platinum: Perhaps the most stable nForce Motherboard
The P6N SLI Platinum seems to be a mix of my two favorites. It has an external ESATA port like the ASUS Striker and it has some great tweaking features similar to the EVGA 680i SLI. It also sacrifices some speed in the graphics department to gain stability.

There is always someone trumpeting their product as designed specifically for gaming, but do those offers really address the heart of a game-oriented, pro-style PC? Mostly, no-they do not. We got sick of this, and decided to put together a true-blue gaming platform build. Where does one start when assembling a DIY kit of such proportions? Three letters: SLI.
